Viral TikTok Challenge Dave Chappelle And Busta Rhymes Founded Dave & Buster'due south Is Hilariously Untrue

The TikTok became so rampant that Snopes even had to make a post debunking the claim.
If you've happened to run across a TikTok challenge Dave & Buster'south was founded by Dave Chappelle and Busta Rhymes and your first idea was, "Wait, this can't be true," well, you're right.
The TikTok in question was first uploaded on June 30 past dablackempress, who goes on to say "How old were y'all when you plant out that Dave & Buster's belongs to Dave Chappelle and Busta Rhymes? I was today years old!" while a picture is shown of Chappelle, Busta, and Marlon Wayans, with the Dave & Busters logo included in it.

Considering dablackempress describes herself as a comedian on her TikTok page, information technology's safe to say this was meant to be a joke from the very commencement. All the same, that doesn't mean that it actually left some people fooled. A search for "Dave Chappelle Busta Rhymes" on Twitter shows a handful of people who fell for the joke, while some users on TikTok responded with their own videos to the claim.

Even Snopes had to address the claim in a post, debunking information technology while too providing the existent history of D&B's founding. Turns out that the concern was actually started past David Corriveau and James "Buster" Corley, who met in Petty Rock, Arkansas, in 1978. The pair had their own respective businesses that were correct next to each other, before ultimately starting a business together in Dallas, Texas, in 1982 that they called Dave & Buster's.
This isn't the offset time someone has made a joke claiming Dave & Buster'due south was founded by Chappelle and Busta. Back in 2019 someone tweeted the same image used by dablackempress with the caption: "Yo I just found out Dave Chapelle and Busta Rhymes own Dave and Buster'due south."
